As COVID cases rise and there are more requirements to show proof of vaccine – for travel, in-person school and indoor dining – we are finding that many people have misplaced the vaccine cards they were given as they were vaccinated. This can be a stressful issue, but the state has provided a quick remedy that can help replace the information. You can click Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record (ca.gov) and within a few minutes you can get the information needed to show proof of vaccine.
If you need some assistance, you can call the Public Health customer service line at 951-358-5000 and they can walk you through the process.
JULY 28
Statement from Riverside County Public Health concerning latest face mask recommendations:
“Following the updated face mask guidance issued by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health, and in light of the recent increase in local COVID-19 cases, Riverside County Public Health recommends residents follow the new state and federal guidance for face coverings.
The current state and federal masking guidance recommend that vaccinated individuals wear face masks in public indoor settings. The state still requires unvaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors.
As the impact on the Delta variant increases transmissibility, Riverside County health officials continue to stress that getting vaccinated is the best protection against the virus and its variants.”
JUNE 15
Riverside County reopens with removal of capacity limits, distancing requirements for most businesses and events
Riverside County, and the rest of the state, reopens today (June 15) with capacity limits and physical distancing requirements removed for most businesses and events. However, other safety measures may be needed based on the type of business or event.
All restaurants, bars, wineries, breweries, distilleries, gyms, movie theaters, museums, zoos and aquariums, as well as places of worship may operate indoors at full capacity and without physical distancing. Meetings, receptions and conferences may resume without testing or vaccination requirements, however, for large-scale events (defined as 5,000 or more individuals indoors and 10,000 or more outdoors), testing and vaccination requirements may apply.
Statewide mask requirements continue to change. At this time, customers at most businesses are not required to wear masks, however, employees are required to mask. Masks are still required for everyone when using public transportation or while at hospitals, schools, childcare settings, long-term care facilities and homeless shelters. For the most updated information, on mask requirements, visit https://covid19.ca.gov/safely-reopening/#reopening-california.
“Getting back to our normal, daily lives has been of paramount importance to our residents, business operators and county employees,” said Board Chair Karen Spiegel, Second District Supervisor. “As we eagerly reopen and more residents return to these long-awaited for activities, let’s savor life and focus on recovery.”
Schools and childcare settings continue to have statewide restrictions pending updated guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For more information, visit https://covid19.ca.gov/safely-reopening/#reopening-california.
Riverside County’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to decline and vaccination rates continue to rise. November 19: Health officials urge Riverside County residents to keep holiday gatherings ‘Smaller, Shorter, Safer’
Riverside County residents are asked to take precautions when celebrating Thanksgiving with smaller, shorter and safer get-togethers. With the recent rise in coronavirus cases and COVID-19 hospitalizations, state health officials are urging residents to limit possible exposure to the virus by reducing the number of people they have contact with during Thanksgiving. While some may opt to have family gatherings, residents are urged to follow these recommendations:
Smaller – If you are going to meet during the holiday, keep the groups small and separate, even within a household. Avoid large gatherings.
Shorter – Keep get-togethers to an hour or two.
Safer – Don’t forget about basic safety: wear a mask, practice social distancing and wash your hands. Eat and socialize outside. Consider seating one family group on the patio, while another sits in a separate area. Keep plenty of hand sanitizer on hand. Avoid sharing serving utensils.
November 11: Get test for COVID-19 at a local Riverside Testing Site!
The City of Riverside, in partnership with Curative Inc., is providing free COVID-19 testing to ALL residents, whether or not you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
The Curative test is a simple-to-use, 100% contactless, oral fluid COVID-19 test that can be rapidly scaled to enable widespread access to testing to keep our communities and employees safe. The test is self-administered, painless, and has clinical accuracy of ~90% and 100% specificity.
The Curative oral-fluid swab test is an alternative method to nasopharyngeal (NP) or nasal swabs in testing for COVID-19. The oral fluid sampling method tests for the presence of virus in both the respiratory tract and the oral cavity. The entire test is done without having to come into close contact with others.
The test is free, whether or not you have insurance. If you have insurance, the provider may bill your insurance carrier for the cost of the test. By law, the insurance company may not charge you any co-pay, deductible, or any out-of-pocket expense for the test.
Priority for same or next day testing is still given to people experiencing symptoms, and certain critical front-line workers who interact with the public.
