In July of 2018, the Corona Police Department received a grant in the amount of $35,758 from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) to conduct various operations and inspections at ABC licensed establishments.
The purpose of this grant is to allow officers to focus on alcohol related crimes at or near ABC licensed establishments and reduce the ability for minors to obtain alcohol. This will be accomplished by officers conducting minor decoy operations, IMPACT inspections of ABC licensed establishments, saturation patrols, LEAD trainings and other investigative techniques.
The Corona Police Department will be hosting a LEAD (Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs) seminar on September 11, 2018. The LEAD seminar is open to employees of ABC licensed businesses and will cover several topics to include:
- Information on what is acceptable I.D.; the best way to check I.D.; how to refuse service; signs and prevention of illicit drug activity
- The facts about your criminal, civil, and ABC liability
- An update on California alcohol laws
