Corona Public Library – Frances Aldama Martinez Community Room Dedication

The Corona History Association invites the community to the dedication of the Corona Public Library Frances Aldama Martinez Community Room on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, beginning at 1 p.m.

Frances Martinez

The presentation will include a presentation of colors, plaque unveiling, retrospective, and light refreshments. Admission is free, everyone is welcome.

Frances Aldama Martinez first came to Corona as an infant in 1915. Graduating from Corona High in 1932, she spent her life bringing equality to the citizens of Corona. Among her many efforts was the registering of voters, helping end school segregation and she was a key organizer of the Joe Dominguez American Legion Post 742. She passed away in 2003, but her contributions to the Circle City have never been forgotten. Frances Aldama Martinez helped Corona to become a better community for all people. To honor her lifetime bravery and efforts, her name is enshrined in the Library's Community Room. Please join us in celebrating her memory.
