The Corona Art Association invites the community to the Corona Lemon Festival on Saturday, November 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Historic Corona Civic Center located at 815 West 6th Street.
Did you know that Corona was once known as the βThe Lemon Capital of the World?β In 1935 at the peak of production 2,406 acres of lemons were harvested filling 1,138 railroad cars! We know things have changed a bit since then, but that is an important part of the proud heritage of our city that should be remembered and celebrated! At one time, the Corona Lemon Festival was an annual 3-day event with parades, pageants, dances and carnivals. The Festival became a victim of the economic downturn and hasnβt been celebrated since 2007. The Corona Art Association is excited to bring it back!
The Corona Lemon Festival will feature live music, a lemon-themed bake-off, opportunity drawings with great prizes, inflatable rides for the kids, and much more! The event will also highlight artwork from talented local artists for guests to enjoy and purchase. Admission is free!
