Attend a virtual public workshop to help plan for sustainable groundwater management in the Temescal Basin. Whether you own your own well, use water from the tap, irrigate your crops, or pump groundwater for your business, everyone can participate in making this plan a success!
The state-wide Sustainable Groundwater Management Act or “SGMA” was passed in 2014 to help stewards of groundwater plan for the future and respond to challenges like changes in climate, the increasing cost of importing water, and growth in urban water use. “SGMA” gives local agencies new tools for managing groundwater.
The City of Corona, City of Norco, and Home Gardens County Water District have formed the Temescal Groundwater Sustainability Agency (Temescal GSA) in order to access those tools and make a Groundwater Sustainability Plan for the Temescal Basin. Please join them at this first public workshop.
At this workshop, you will get the opportunity to share how you use groundwater, as well as your questions, ideas, and concerns about protecting groundwater supply and quality in the Temescal Basin.
