Have you ever wondered why one of our most popular trails is named after tin mines? Join us as we discuss some of Corona’s history in the Cleveland National Forest and how important the mines were to early settlers of our area. All information is sourced from the Corona Public Library’s local history room.
This hike will be about 3 miles in length and mainly flat with some elevation gain. Please note that inclement weather might postpone/cancel our hike and wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Park Rangers will provide guidance if any hazardous conditions are encountered, and please note that slippery conditions may exist.
Young hikers (5+) are welcome to participate with their parents. The pace of the hike will be determined by the participants, please plan to be out on the trails with us for at least two hours. Due to the group environment, please leave your furry friends at home.
Please bring:
- Your own water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Hike appropriate attire: a hat, boots that are slip resistant, and walking sticks are highly recommended. No sandals.
- Binoculars (Optional)
Participation in the hikes will require all hikers to complete a Waiver of Liability. Any participants under the age of 18 will need a parent to sign their waiver of liability. An email confirmation will be sent out to registered hikers on Wednesday, May 15th.
