Cajalco Road / I-15 Interchange Improvement Project – Update & Upcoming Closures from City of Corona 

JUNE 20 - JUNE 21: TRAFFIC SWITCH 

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will pave the NEW northbound I-15 auxiliary lane and stripe the NEW Cajalco Rd Bridge and NEW Cajalco Rd. 

NIGHTTIME ALTERNATING FREEWAY LANES AND RAMP CLOSURES: 

8 p.m. Thursday, June 20 - 4 a.m. Friday, June 21 

Southbound I-15 from El Cerrito Rd to Dos Lagos Rd/Weirick Rd

Cajalco Rd Bridge
Cajalco Rd

Freeway Ramps:
Northbound I-15 On- and Off-Ramps at Cajalco Rd
Southbound I-15 On- and Off-Ramps at Cajalco Rd
Northbound I-15 Off-Ramp at El Cerrito Rd

WHAT TO EXPECT ON FRIDAY, JUNE 21: NEW Cajalco Rd Bridge and NEW Cajalco Rd

• Traffic will be switched onto the NEW Cajalco Rd Bridge and NEW Cajalco Rd. Only TWO lanes will be OPENED until Fall 2019.
• The OLD Cajalco Rd Bridge will be CLOSED and demolished on Saturday, June 29. View details for the demolition below. 
• Temporary lighting will be used to illuminate areas around the work zone. Emergency services access will be maintained.

JUNE 29- JUNE 30: CLOSURES TO DEMOLISH OLD CAJALCO BRIDGE

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will demolish the old Cajalco Rd Bridge. The work will require full closures of the northbound and southbound I-15 freeway to allow for the bridge demolition and clean up.

FULL CLOSURE HOURS AND LOCATIONS:

7 p.m. Saturday, June 29 – 10 a.m. Sunday, June 30
Cajalco Rd Bridge and Cajalco Rd will be CLOSED between Temescal Canyon Rd and Bedford Canyon Rd.

8 p.m. Saturday, June 29 – 9 a.m. Sunday, June 30
Northbound and Southbound I-15 on and off ramps at Cajalco Rd
Northbound on and off ramps at El Cerrito Rd
Southbound on and off ramps at Weirick Rd/Dos Lagos Dr

9 p.m. Saturday, June 29 – 9 a.m. Sunday, June 30
Northbound I-15 and Southbound I-15 from El Cerrito Rd to Weirick Rd/Dos Lagos Dr

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CLOSURES:

• Significant delays are expected, please plan ahead.
• Work will be noisy due to construction equipment and back-up alarms.
• Temporary lighting will be used to illuminate areas around the work zone.
• Driveway access for the Crossing at Corona Shopping Center will be located on Temescal Canyon Rd.
• Emergency Services access will be maintained during the closures.
