Virtual Veteran Exhibit Showcases War Stories!
The war is over, but memories remain, the Corona Public Library is seeking veterans who are interested in showcasing their stories in a virtual gallery exhibit. The Battles & Scars project takes inspiration from War Ink, a virtual exhibit and forum recognizing veterans' services and sacrifices by bridging the divide between veterans and civilians through tattoo artwork. Corona's Vets Connect would like to extend War Ink's work into our community through this local history project. Through photographs and interviews, veterans will have the opportunity to candidly share their experiences and introduce more civilians to the lives of our local veterans.
Veteran recruitment begins on Veterans Day, 2020. Launch of the virtual gallery will occur near Memorial Day, 2021. If you are interested in participating or know someone who may be interested, please contact Ashley Arias by email at Ashley.Arias@CoronaCA.gov or by phone at (951) 279-3746 for more information.

Vets Adopt for Free!
Did you know? As of January 1, 2020, military veterans in California can adopt a pet from the Corona Animal Shelter, and other public shelters, for free. Veterans can show their driver's license or ID card with the “VETERAN” designation on it to shelter personnel and have adoption fees waived. Although the bill waives adoption fees, licensing and microchip fees still apply. Contact the Corona Animal Shelter at (951) 736-2309 for full details and adopt today!
