LEADING SPACE AND DEFENSE MANUFACTURER, AMRO, EXPANDS TO CORONA
CORONA, CA– The City of Corona is pleased to announce the expansion of AMRO Fabricating Corporation (“AMRO”) to Corona this Spring 2021. A premier space and defense supplier and manufacturer, AMRO’s expansion brings the potential to add hundreds of jobs in the coming years, further bridging the gap between Corona’s talented workforce and the growing manufacturing industry within the City.
AMRO has served the aerospace and defense industries for over 40+ years. They are a leading supplier of highly engineered, metallic primary structures and assemblies. AMRO’s signature products can be found in almost every domestic launch vehicle, spacecraft and missile. The company employs hundreds of machinists and blue collar workers across Southern California.
The expansion follows AMRO’s exciting new partnership with Trive Capital ("Trive"), Aerospace Engineering Corp. and AAE Aerospace to create Karman Missile & Space Systems ("Karman"). The new platform is one of the largest independently owned suppliers focused on the Space and Defense Sectors. The creation of Karman will accelerate expansion and play an increasing role in the development and manufacturing of customers' most important next generation programs.
“We are honored to be operating in the City of Corona and be part of the 42nd District with Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA-42) supporting our industry as a Ranking Member of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. In addition to our South El Monte campus, our new Corona facility will add over 75,000+ sq. ft. of manufacturing space and over 20,000 sq. ft. of office space. This will further help optimize our work centers, increase our capacity for throughput, as well as the breadth of our capabilities -- all of which allows us to better serve our key customers and their programs.” said John Hammond, President of AMRO.
“We are thrilled to welcome AMRO to our thriving community of more than 400 manufacturers that call Corona home,” said Mayor Jacque Casillas. “We are proud they’ve chosen to expand to Corona and look forward to supporting their growth.”
“AMRO’s expansion to Corona enhances the diversity of products and employment opportunities offered by more than 12,000 businesses across the manufacturing, construction, medical and retail industries,” said Corona’s Economic Development Director Jessica Gonzales. “Through its Team Corona model, the City streamlines a company’s expansion to Corona with access to regional, state, and federal incentives to reduce operational costs and support hiring needs.”
