Convicted Sex Offender Arrested

CORONA, CA– On January 28, 2024, at 11:50 AM, Corona Police officers responded to Mountain Gate Park, located at 3100 S. Main St., Corona, for a reported sexual battery and robbery. Officers learned the suspect approached the victim, sexually battered her, and stole her cellular phone.

Based on the suspect’s description and actions, it was believed he was possibly the same offender from a sexual battery that occurred on January 26, 2024, at 3:20 PM, in the 1100 block of Magnolia Ave., Corona.

Miguel Vasquez

Corona officers, with the assistance of the Riverside Police Department’s helicopter, conducted an extensive search and were ultimately able to identify and locate the suspect in the area of Ford St. and Filbert St., Corona. The suspect was identified as Miguel Vazquez, a 29-year-old resident of Corona. Detectives responded and assumed control of the investigation, which revealed additional evidence connecting Miguel to both sexual batteries, including in his vehicle (see attached photograph) and his residence in the 900 block of Rimpau Ave., Corona.
