NATIONAL COMMUNITY SURVEY
The City of Corona began participating in the National Community Survey (NCS) in 2022. The NCS provides a comprehensive picture of livability and resident perspectives about local government services, policies, and management. The survey captures residents’ opinions on 10 central facets of community:
- Economy
- Mobility
- Community Design
- Utilities
- Safety
- Natural Environment
- Parks and Recreation
- Health and Wellness
- Education, Arts and Culture
- Inclusivity and Engagement
Over 600 communities throughout the United States participate in the NCS, and the results of Corona’s survey were benchmarked against the NCS participating communities to determine how Corona ranks in comparison to other communities throughout the country.
2022 National Community Survey Results
The National Community Survey was administered in the City of Corona by the National Research Center at Polco during the Spring and Summer of 2022. The survey was available for Corona residents to complete in one of two formats:
· Random sample survey mailed to 7,000 randomly selected households throughout Corona, generating 714 responses with an overall response rate of 10%.
· Open participation survey posted online for 8 weeks, generating 310 responses.
The results of the survey are used to help City officials set policy goals and prioritize how to use resources to best improve the quality of life in Corona. Several questions from the NCS are also included as performance indicators in the City’s Strategic Plan and allow the City to measure our progress in achieving the goals and objectives in the Strategic Plan.
