Run with ACOP
Anti Childhood Obesity Project
The Run with ACOP was founded in February of 2016. The project allows the police department to reach out to the youth of our community while building strong partnerships with local organizations. Students have the opportunity to Run with ACOP but also to help with Anti Childhood Obesity Project. During the school year, students can earn miles and ranking by completing certain number of miles. Not only are the students fighting Childhood Obesity but they are also improving their relationships with local police officers, improving school readiness, improving self-esteem and overall health.
The mission of Run with ACOP is to bring awareness and education for a healthy lifestyle to the youth of the community while building strong community partnerships.
Each event will have a specialized team present. Some of the teams will include crime prevention, K-9 team, mounted team, and special response team.
