Accountability
The Corona Police Department is a professional police agency staffed by individuals who cherish and maintain the highest standards of conduct and performance. We hold ourselves accountable and encourage our community members to report officer conduct they believe is wrong.
We recognize that the public’s trust in our organization is vital to our success. It is our assurance that each and every complaint of personnel misconduct receives the full attention and review of our management staff. All complaints are swiftly and thoroughly investigated and appropriate measures are taken to ensure the professional conduct of our personnel. The procedures of a complaint process are as follows:
- FILE A SERVICE COMMENT – The Corona Police Department has a policy to thoroughly investigate citizen complaints. Should you believe that an employee of this department has committed an act or omission that is misconduct or a violation of law, you have a right to complain and have the matter investigated. Policy Positions - Where We Stand
Your Corona Police Department values its strong relationship with our community and strives for "Excellence in Policing." We begin by selecting good men and women while seeking to reflect the diversity of our community. We continually invest in our officers in training de-escalation and to ensure that when force is lawfully applied, we provide any needed medical assistance. We are already increasing our training beyond standards set by California Peace Officers Standards and Training in both Procedural Justice Training and Crisis Intervention Training. Lastly, we have invested in in-car and body-worn cameras to provide an accurate record of our service.
We've received many questions from our community about where we stand. Please review our guide to view a comprehensive look at your Corona Police Department.
