42 Corona Homeless Residents Housed at Vista Dorada
The City of Corona Homeless Solutions Team is elated to announce that 42 homeless residents with documentable ties to the City of Corona have signed their leases and are moving into their new housing units at the Vista Dorada Permanent Supportive Housing project on Frontage Road. 10 other Corona homeless residents are in varying stages of the application approval process. The goal is to achieve 100% lease up of all 52 units by mid-June 2023!

The multi-disciplinary teams working on this project include the City’s Homeless Solutions Team, CPD HOPE Team, City Net and Mercy House who are contracted service partners, the County’s Housing & Workforce Services Department, the County’s HomeConnect Team, Abode Communities, the nonprofit developer, and Centro Medico Community Clinic. Through weekly meetings and regular collaboration, many of the City’s most chronically homeless have transitioned out of crisis and into supportive housing.
City funding was used to pay for required security deposits through our Mercy House contract and Welcome Home Baskets were purchased through our City Net contract. The Welcome Home Baskets were assembled and delivered by our Make-It Cozy Program Manager and many community volunteers. In addition, Centro Medico Community Clinic fast-tracked doctor-diagnosed disability verifications required for supportive housing. This project exemplifies the City’s systems-oriented approach to ending homelessness through partnerships and integration of resources!
