Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program, implemented in many communities across the country, is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. The City of Corona Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team program prepares individuals for increased self-reliance which can supplement City resources in the event of a disaster or other major emergency. CERT volunteers are trained in emergency procedures and are duly registered as Disaster Service Workers in accordance with the California Government Code and the City of Corona Municipal Code.
