About the Corona Airport

Nestled on approximately 100 acres of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE) land leased to the City of Corona in the Prado Basin lies the small, community-oriented, Corona Municipal Airport. The airport is home to 300-350 general aviation aircraft and is strictly a recreational airport with no commercial flights. Our small airport is extremely active, with approximately 35,000 annual operations.

Because the airport is located on USACOE land and is used for recreational flying only, it's managed by the City of Corona. Throughout the years the Airport has been operated at no cost to the taxpayers. All revenues to operate and maintain it are generated through rental fees and state grants. A major priority is that the airport continues to be safe and self-sustaining.

Tie-Down Information

• Long-Term Tie-Down
  Monthly fees are $60 for single-engine and $65 for double-engine. To get started, call (951) 736-2289 or email us at Corona.Airport@CoronaCA.gov. Additional tie-down areas are available. For more information, contact one of the City’s approved sub-Master Lease Holders here.

• Transient Tie-Down
  The Transient Tie-Down area is available free of charge for non-overnight parking. For overnight parking, it is $5 for single-engine and $7 for double-engine per night.

Gate Card Access Control Card

To receive a gate card to the Corona Airport, the following application process must be completed.

• Email us at Corona.Airport@CoronaCA.gov.  The cost is $84.00 per new card or $21.00 per replacement card.
• After submission, the application will be automatically sent to the Master Lease Holder for signature via Docusign.
• Once the Master Lease Holder has authorized and signed the application, the Community Services Front Desk will receive confirmation and schedule a Zoom appointment with the applicant to obtain Driver’s License Information and Gate Access Control Card picture.
• After the information is obtained, applicant will receive the application for final signature via Docusign.
• Once final signature and payment are received, the applicant will receive notification that the Airport Gate Access Control Card is ready for pick up at City Hall located at 400 S. Vicentia Ave, Corona, CA 92882.

NWS/NOAA Aviation Weather Center

1. Go to the NWS/NOAA Aviation Weather Center website.
2. Type in KAJO in the METAR text.
   ( This is the 4-letter ICAO station identifier for the Corona Airport AWSS\AWOS.)
3. Select the Translated radial button.
4. Select the time frame you are interested in using the drop down field that currently reads “most recent only.”
5. Click on the “Submit” button to view AJO METARS weather information.
