Wes Speake
Wes Speake was first elected in November 2018 and served as the first councilman for Corona’s 5th District (South Corona, Eagle Glen, and Dos Lagos). He served as the Mayor of Corona in 2022 and was reelected to his second term in 2022. Wes and his wife Mary have five children and three grandchildren. He has lived in Corona since 1980 and in the 5th District area since 2001. Wes attended Corona schools and graduated from Corona High School in 1986. He earned associate degrees from Riverside Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management from the University of Redlands, and a certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning from the University of California, Riverside.
Wes serves as a Senior Vice President for a large multinational environmental and engineering firm based in Riverside. The firm specializes in environmental studies, including regulatory permitting, special studies for endangered species, and cultural resources for various commercial, state, local, and federal government clients. His wife has operated a martial arts studio in Corona for over 10 years.
Wes has a passion for Corona. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees for Corona Public Library, as a board member of the Corona Parks Foundation, on the Corona Community Task Force for the SR-91 Project, the Circle City Substation Task Force, the Greater Corona Traffic Alliance, and as a board member of the Riverside Community College District Foundation. He is also a graduate of the Corona Chamber of Commerce Executive Leadership Roundtable and has served as President of the Corona Historic Preservation Society since 2016.
Within the city, Wes chaired the McKinley Grade Separation, Water Meter Sizing, and Permitting and Plan Check ad hoc committees, and chaired the Infrastructure Committee for two years. He serves on the following Boards and Commissions:

- RCTC Western Programs and Projects Committee (Chair-2024)
- RCTC Traffic Relief Strategy Committee

- State Route 91 Advisory Committee – represents RCTC (Chair 2024-2025)
- League of California Cities – Housing, Community, and Economic Development Policy Committee – Presidential Appointee (Chair-2025)
- Numerous subcommittees on Housing, AB285, and Transportation
- Southern California Association of Governments:
- Community, Economic, and Human Development Committee (WRCOG Appointee 2020-2022)
- Transportation Committee (WRCOG Appointee 2023- )
- Resilience and Conservation Subcommittee
- Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority (Vice Chair) – represents the City of Corona
