The City of Corona is creating the budget for co-sponsored events taking place on January 1, 2025 – June 30th, 2025 and invites qualified non-profit organizations to submit their written requests for Co-Sponsorship by July 31, 2024.
Applications will be accepted in two phases:
Events July 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024 – Applications Now Available! (Due Feb. 29. 2024)
Events January 1, 2025 – June 30, 2025 – Applications Available July 1, 2024 (Due July 31, 2024)
Please be advised that this application is a request not a guarantee.
Please note: This program is not the same as the recently approved Community Based Organization (CBO) grant funding, which will be made available through a separate application process.
Organizations that will be considered shall meet the following criteria:
1. Community groups, non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organizations or other government agencies. Non-profit status will be verified via the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Corona-Norco Unified School District events may be considered for City co-sponsorship.
- Must be able to provide non-profit status in the form of an Entity Status Letter, dated within the last six (6) months, that can be obtained via IRS, FTB, or California Secretary of State websites.
2. Must be based within the City of Corona or must have a local branch or non-profit affiliation within the City. Organizations with a non-profit affiliation must submit a written letter from the non-profit verifying the affiliation.
3. The organization's event must be designed to accomplish one of more of the following objectives:
• Promote the City of Corona as a desirable place to live, visit or do business.
• Promote the City of Corona as a visitor destination and/or bring tourism-associated
revenue for the City.
• Enhance the quality of life and well-being of the residents of the City of Corona.
• Advance the City’s commitment to, and pride in, being a multicultural community.
• Encourage the development of neighborhood identity and pride.
• Promote cultural and artistic awareness within the community.
Please note: The City discourages Co-Sponsorship requests if the Co-Sponsorship request conflicts with other approved Co-Sponsorship events, and/or the request conflicts with a City event.
Guidelines for Written Requests
City co-sponsorship shall be limited to “in-kind” donations of City services in lieu of direct monetary donations. Examples of “in-kind” donations are the waiving of certain permit fees associated with an event or covering City staff time cost incurred as a result of the event. Written requests should include a background description of the specific event, scope of activities and the event’s significance to the residents of Corona. The request should also include an itemized breakdown of the event’s total cost and the specific City services that are being requested. To help you determine if City services will be needed and associated costs, please contact the Special Events Team, at Special.Events@CoronaCA.Gov or by phone at 951-817-5755, or by visiting the Circle City Center (365 N. Main St., Corona, CA, 92882)
All applications must be received no later than 6PM on July 31, 2024 for consideration.
Please note that all written requests submitted by the deadline will be reviewed, but due to budgetary constraints, not all requests will be funded. Please do not hesitate to contact the Special Events Team, at Special.Events@CoronaCA.gov or by phone at 951-817-5755, or by visiting the Circle City Center (365 N. Main St., Corona, CA, 92882) if you have any additional questions.
