Fatal Traffic Collision


CORONA, CA– On July 27, 2023, at 6:46 P.M., Corona police officers were dispatched to the intersection of River Road and Lincoln Avenue regarding a hit and run traffic collision. The driver of a brown Chevrolet Tahoe fled the scene and was followed by a witness, who saw the driver pass road closed signs and into the road-closed gates at the intersection of Rincon Street and North Smith Street. The driver, who was the sole occupant, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The Riverside Sheriff-Coroner responded and are attempting to identify the unknown decedent.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcoholic beverages were involved with the collisions.
