THREE JUVENILES ARRESTED FOR PARK SHOOTING
CORONA, CA– On Thursday, September 14th, 2023, at 8:23 P.M., the Corona Police Department responded to Promenade Park, located at 615 Richey Street, for a male who had been shot. Officers found an 18-year-old male at a nearby apartment complex suffering from gunshot wounds to both legs. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he is stable.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the Riverside Police Department air units responded and located three male juveniles hiding in a field adjacent to the park. The juveniles surrendered peacefully to Corona police officers and were identified as the suspects in the shooting. One of them, a 16-year-old, was arrested for attempted murder and conspiracy. The other two, a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old, were arrested for conspiracy. All three were transported to Riverside County Juvenile Hall.
Officers canvassed the area and located the shooting scene near the park’s tennis courts. A handgun believed to be used in the crime was recovered near the scene. At this time, it appears to be an isolated incident, and no suspects are outstanding.
