Trees not only beautify the City of Corona, they also cast welcome shade on streets and sidewalks. Did you know? The City of Corona has over 58,000 trees and 14,000 planting sites. The estimated value of Corona's tree inventory is $157,843,050.

Data collection has determined that the City of Corona consists of 61,672 street trees, stumps, and vacant sites located in street rights-of-way, medians, and facilities.

As of 05/19/2021, the Urban Forest Management Plan has secured a commitment to make Corona green and inviting for all who live and visit here. To learn more about this plan, click here.

Caring for Trees

Help us care for the trees in the City:

Where are we currently trimming?

The city is currently trimming all palms city wide as part of the city wide grid pruning

Grid Trimming

The optimal pruning cycle for a Southern California municipality is 3-5 years.  By keeping the pruning cycle low the City is managing pro-actively, hedging against future liabilities associated with a deteriorating urban forest as well enhancing the value of a significant asset.

To enable an optimal pruning cycle, the City of Corona will be adopting Grid Trimming. This will foster scheduling, equitable service, preventative maintenance, improve our urban forest health, and reduce City liability.
