The Planning Division works with other departments to provide a continuing quality of life for the residents and business owners located in the City of Corona. The Planning Division also works with land developers regarding commercial, industrial, and residential developments, promotes and implements plans for the balanced and orderly growth of the City, and ensures that all new development is constructed in accordance with good design practices. The Planning Division is also responsible for the review and issuance of permits for fence and walls, patio covers, signage, residential and commercial additions, and providing overall general zoning information and General Plan information. The City Council at its meeting on October 18, 2023 adopted Urgency Ordinance No. 3380 prohibiting short term residential rentals in the City. Starting October 18, 2023, short term residential rentals will no longer be permitted in the City and permits will no longer be issued by the City to operate a short term residential rental. Short term residential rentals issued a valid permit from the City prior to October 18, 2023, will be allowed to continue until the expiration date of the permit pursuant to Urgency Ordinance No. 3382.
