The Code Compliance Division is responsible for the enforcement of certain health and safety regulations as well as the ongoing maintenance and consistent use of private property throughout the City through the education and enforcement of City property maintenance codes, inoperative vehicle abatement codes, and a variety of zoning codes which cover land use, signs, and development standards. Code Compliance also assists Animal Control, Fire, Police, Building, and various other City departments in the interpretation and enforcement of various municipal codes.

*Notice: Temporary signs are prohibited in the public right-of-way starting May 3, 2024*

 The Corona City Council at its meeting on April 3, 2024, approved Ordinance 3392 amending Corona Municipal Code Section 17.74.070 and 5.44.100 to prohibit temporary signs in the public right-of-way.  Ordinance 3392 will go into effect on May 3, 2024, and temporary signs will no longer be permitted in the public rights-of-way.  Some common examples of temporary signs include, lost pet signs, “cash for cars”, estate/garage sale signs, area specialist signs, etc. Temporary signs are also not permitted on public sidewalks, light poles, city parks or other city properties, street signs, and/or stop signs. Signs in violation of this ordinance on and after this date may be removed at the responsible party’s expense, and/or citations issued.
